Job Description

1. Design, plan and implement purchasing strategies 2. Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders if appropriate 3. Ensure availability of materials at the plants - (i) on time, (ii) meeting quality standards, (iii) in the optimum quantities, and (iv) at the best price and terms 4. Monitor and maintain inventories 5. Monitor and improve vendor ratings for deliveries on time and for meeting quality standards 6. Track, measure and analyze company expenditures 7. Undertake trouble-shooting actions, specifically for procurement and movement of critical products 8. Implement systems and processes in the Procurement function that meet Company policies and certification requirements 9. Policies & processes : adhere to company ethics policies and best practices 10. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors 11. Identify and develop potential suppliers and vendors 12. Conduct periodical audits of vendors and logistics suppliers 13. Responsible for managing relationships and negotiating with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level 14. Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders if appropriate 15. Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions

Education Qualifications

  • B.Sc/Chemistry
  • MS/M.Sc(Science)/Chemistry
  • B.Tech/B.E./Chemical
  • Diploma/Chemical
